Junior Scratch matches against Shropshire and Derbyshire
Junior Scratch match vs Shropshire at Trentham Park GC. Monday 26th May
You may have heard of the A-Team, our version played today… the M-Team, Millie, Maddison, Meme, Millie and Mya. It was a cold wind that ripped round Trentham during the day, and the sun disappeared as the first group teed off. The girls played some great golf around tight tree lined fairways on an undulating course. Millie won the first match against Seren, but it was a tight match going through to the 17th hole, Maddison found it difficult against Lily, struggling the elements and a cold and lost her game, but got time to relax before the second round. Amelia also took her game to the 17th, narrowly losing her match against Denni, another very tight competition. The foursomes pairing of Millie and Mya played an excellent game getting an early win against Gangotri and Isabelle. The final result was a 2:2 draw, well done team!
Junior Scratch match vs Derbyshire at Trentham Park GC. Monday 26th May
It was a very quick turnaround for the team for the afternoon match against Derbyshire, the tee time between the first match and the second match only 4 hours, so the Notts team had to eat on the go for the second round. Unfortunately, Staffordshire had no team, so Derbyshire arrived on the tee fresh and ready to go. The rain from the end of the morning session really set in for the afternoon and driving winds made conditions very difficult. Maddison set off first in the afternoon, and the fresh air from the morning certainly helped her to feel better, with a great match going to 18 and Maddison beating Chloe by 1 shot. The foursomes pairing of Mya and Millie went next, determined not to lose their winning streak against Olivia and Claudia and true to form, won 2 up. Amelia had a tough match against Erin and eventually lost 3 & 1. Millie battled Izzy in the afternoon, and although it was tight right to the end, Izzy finally clinched the match leaving Millie 2 down. The final result was a 2:2 draw. The 2025 scratch team is still unbeaten with one match to play next week at Radcliffe against Leicestershire. Good luck Girls!
